Professional growth

We hold a strong track record of internal mobility in Maersk Drilling. Our employees build skills throughout their career with us, making it possible to experience fulfilling new challenges within the company. We are proud to take a long-term perspective on the development of our people.

Most learning takes place on the job through stretch assignments. In addition, we offer training and other development activities to further accelerate skill level and growth, based on the aspirations of the individual and the contribution they want to make to the business.

At Maersk Drilling, training and competency development is key to the continuous improvement of our safety and our operational performance. We support training and competency development at all levels and job roles.

A culture of continuous development: Building competency is an integrated part of how we manage and operate our rigs. We aspire to have a competent crew who consistently deliver high team performance to our customers globally. For this reason, we are known among customers for our competent crew who value team work and have the ability to perform complex jobs using the newest technology.

As a new employee at Maersk Drilling, you will be introduced to our organisation, values and safety culture through our on-boarding process and engaging Starter’s Day course.

You will be trained to comply with industry regulatory and client requirements for a safe operation. We will also invest in the development of your technical skills within your job role. To increase the impact of this training, part of it will take place in your daily working environment on the rig together with your colleagues and an onboard trainer.
All leaders at Maersk Drilling undergo tailored leadership courses designed to meet the challenges of the offshore industry. Through this training, we provide our leaders with tools to perform and promote our values and ways of working.

To maintain your competencies, Maersk Drilling has implemented an agile and transparent competency assurance system based on industry recommendations from IADC, UK HSE and NORSOK. The system includes both on the job training and competency assessment and is designed to enhance the specific competencies required in your job role.
