Pipefitter – Starting 3/2 – 6 Weeks

Pipefitters at ESSO, FAWLEY, HAMPSHIRE starting on or around 02/02/2020

GBP 17.83 – 17.83 Hourly

Due to an increased work scope on a long-standing project we’re looking to recruit several qualified Pipe Fitters for our Engineering Business Unit in Southampton. Work is due to start on this Shutdown in February 2020 and set to last for 6 weeks. You will be responsible for making up sections of high and low-pressure piping systems ready for installation in a safe, competent manner and in line with both Altrad systems and the limits of your own qualifications. Working as part of our dedicated and highly skilled site teams your day to day works will include:

  • Ascertain job requirements from drawings or other specification
  • Cut a range of materials to the required size
  • Prepare and position pipework and flanges for welding
  • Bending and joining pipework by various methods and machinery

You will hold a City and Guilds certificate in Engineering construction – level 3, or BTEC National award in Engineering along with a valid CCNSG safety passport to be considered for this role.

Mechanical Fitter – Starting 3/2 – 6 weeks

Due to an increased work scope on a long-standing project we’re looking to recruit several qualified Mechanical fitters for our Engineering Business Unit in Southampton. Work is due to start on this Shutdown in February 2020 and set to last for 6 weeks. Working as part of our dedicated and highly skilled site teams your day to day works will include:

  • Ascertain job requirements from drawings and/or other specifications.
  • Examine faulty plant or machinery and to ascertain nature and location of defects.
  • Determine sequence and method of required operations.
  • Dismantle plant or machinery and remove damaged or worn parts.
  • Repair defective parts, obtain replacement parts or prepare new parts using hand and machine tools.
  • Fit and assemble parts to rebuild plant or machinery.
  • Test plant or machinery for correct functioning and make necessary adjustments.
  • Carry out service tasks such as cleaning, oiling and greasing, according to schedule.
  • Operate overhead crane/basic slinging in a safe manner.
  • Install or reposition plant or machinery.
  • Modify standard machinery for special purposes.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment

 

You will hold an Approved Apprenticeship to NVQ level 3.  Considerable site experience, with experience on Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing Sites desirable. Must have a valid Safety Passport.

Rigger – Starting 3/2 – 6 Weeks

Riggers at ESSO, FAWLEY, HAMPSHIRE starting on or around 03/02/2020

GBP 17.83 – 17.83 Hourly

Due to a shutdown award on a long-standing project we’re looking to recruit several qualified Riggers for our Engineering Business Unit in the Southampton. Work is due to start on this Shutdown in February 2020 and set to last for 6 weeks. You will be responsible for setting up or repairing rigging for construction projects and manufacturing plants in a safe, competent manner and in line with both Altrad systems and the limits of your own qualifications. Working as part of our dedicated and highly skilled site teams your day to day works will include:

Your duties will include but are not limited to;

·          Align, level, and anchor machinery

·          Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools

·          Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps.

·          Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chainfalls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment

·          Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use
