Straight Group Scholarships in Alberta Canada

STRIKE GROUP EDI SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Strike Group EDI Scholarship Program is part of a broader commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in our organization. We know that we must increase our focus on building the future talent pipeline and find more ways to support underrepresented populations in our industry.

This scholarship program is part of our commitment to helping break through barriers and creating a positive impact on the community at large. We believe everyone has a right to education, and we are committed to providing people in historically underrepresented groups with financial aid.

TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS

CANADIAN IMMIGRANT SCHOLARSHIP

Did you know that Canada has one of the highest naturalization rates in the world? About 85% of newcomers become citizens!

Immigration is a welcome and necessary part of growing Canada’s economy and it helps to ensure we have qualified workers to fill available jobs. Strike supports immigrants and welcomes this opportunity to give back to individuals that are stimulating innovation and helping to develop important cross-cultural competencies.

You are encouraged to apply for this scholarship if you immigrated to Western Canada and are pursuing an education in the trades or post-secondary.

INDIGENOUS SCHOLARSHIP

Strike Group aims to help build meaningful careers for Canada’s Indigenous communities. We believe in supporting learning and training opportunities to help promote success for the up-and-coming Indigenous workforce.

Annually we are offering a $2,000 scholarship for an Indigenous student living in Western Canada. If you are Indigenous and are pursuing an education in the trades or post-secondary, we encourage you to apply!

LGBTQ2S+ SCHOLARSHIP

It’s important to spread love, education, and acceptance. Strike is creating safe and equitable workplaces to ensure we are fostering positive relationships with all communities! By supporting students along their journey, we are rewarded with a pipeline of diverse students containing unique talents, skills and abilities that help to benefit us all.

If you identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Two-Spirit, or any other identity within the LGBTQ2S+ community, this scholarship is for you!

WESTERN CANADA INCLUSION SCHOLARSHIP

Inclusion is the practice of providing everyone with equal access to opportunities and resources. Strike would like all people living in Western Canada to feel safe and respected. We aim to ensure that everybody’s voices are heard and that we are creating a welcoming work environment.

This scholarship intends to promote inclusion by providing a scholarship that is open to all students living in Western Canada. We especially recommend people from historically underrepresented populations/groups to apply, but all applications will be considered.

WOMEN IN ENERGY SCHOLARSHIP

Strike is helping create equal opportunities for women and creating an atmosphere of respect and acceptance. We aim to make a meaningful impact in our industry by encouraging women to pursue careers in the trades and construction, and by actively creating opportunities for education, apprenticeships, and hiring. Increasing participation of women in the trades and onsite management helps to replenish Canada’s skilled construction workforce.

If you are Female and are pursuing an education in the trades or post-secondary, we encourage you to apply!

SCHOLARSHIP VALUE

Each of the five scholarship categories is eligible for $2,000 to help offset student tuition.
